Account configuration
What is the difference between an account and a location?
An account
A CareerPlug account contains the jobs, applicants, team members, and all other associated data for an individual franchisee/member.
If a CareerPlug user has more than one CareerPlug account associated with their email address, they can easily switch between multiple accounts without needing to log out and back in again.
A location
A location represents a distinct hiring address (city + zip code) within a CareerPlug account. If a franchisee/member only manages a single physical location, all jobs are posted to the account's default location. Franchisees/members with more than one physical location can post jobs to different locations or even post jobs to multiple locations.
Locations determine the zip code associated with a job posting on job boards. When applicants search job boards, results are limited to a 25-mile radius around the job seeker's location (either city + state or zip code). If your franchisees/members want to post jobs and attract applicants in a different city and/or zip code, they'll need to add a new location to their account.
Within their CareerPlug account, franchisees/members can also use locations to limit users' access to jobs, applicants, team members, and all associated data. This ensures that information in their account is not available to everyone with access to CareerPlug.
What does CareerPlug do with your network data?
CareerPlug imports your network data into our system and associates each account owner's data with a unique activation code.
When a franchisee/member is ready to activate their account, they must visit CareerPlug's activation page and enter their activation code. They can then immediately begin using their account.
If a franchisee/member has lost or doesn't know their activation code, they can still activate their CareerPlug account by visiting our Get Started page, entering their business email address, and clicking the Activate Account button.
The importance of account naming
When you create your network account, you must set the account name for each franchisee/member account or location. This account name is what applicants will see on the job boards.
Limit your account name to 63 characters, and stick to the following naming conventions:
- Brand of "location or territory”
- Brand - "location or territory"
- Brand + 'unique identifier" (can be franchise ID, # unique to franchisee)
- Brand - "LLC name"
- "LLC Name"
Be deliberate with your account name to ensure:
- Branding consistency
- Location accuracy
- A franchisee does not monopolize a market
